About OSB Group
OSB Group plc has deeper roots than its relatively recent listing might suggest. The business traces back to 1898 and the Chatham & District Reliance Building Society, which grew over a century to become Kent Reliance Building Society. In 2011, Kent Reliance transferred its business to OneSavings Bank plc — backed by private equity firm JC Flowers — which subsequently listed on the London Stock Exchange and entered the FTSE 250. A merger with Charter Court Financial Services in 2020 created OSB Group plc as the holding entity for the combined group.
Today OSB Group is one of the UK's largest specialist mortgage lenders, managing over £4.5 billion in savings from more than 100,000 customers and having lent over £3.5 billion in 2024 alone. The bridging and development proposition is delivered through distinct subsidiary brands, each with its own origination focus and underwriting team:
- Precise Mortgages focuses on borrowers underserved by mainstream lenders — the self-employed, those with complex income or adverse credit, and specialist buy-to-let.
- Kent Reliance for Intermediaries covers residential and commercial mortgages with a flexibility-led approach.
- InterBay Commercial (formerly InterBay, acquired in 2012) provides commercial and semi-commercial mortgages and unregulated bridging finance.
- Heritable Development Finance supports residential property developers on ground-up and refurbishment projects.
