About LendInvest
LendInvest plc has deeper roots than its 2012 incorporation date suggests. Co-founders Christian Faes and Ian Thomas had launched Montello Bridging Finance in 2008, growing it into a leading offline bridging lender before taking the business online in 2012 and rebranding as LendInvest. The platform model — matching institutional capital to verified property loan originations — attracted backing from Atomico (the European venture capital fund co-founded by Niklas Zennström of Skype), as well as pension funds, insurers and global institutions including HSBC and J.P. Morgan.
In July 2021, LendInvest listed on London Stock Exchange's AIM, becoming one of very few fintech property lenders to achieve public market status. The company has since issued multiple securitisations, including its first in 2019 at £259 million — the first FinTech securitisation of its own assets. The loan book today sits at over £3 billion, across bridging, development and a substantial buy-to-let mortgage book.
The business operates nationally through a regionally distributed team covering Southern England, Northern England and Scotland. Its bridging product range covers residential, commercial, semi-commercial, bridge-to-let and regulated bridging — one of the most complete product sets of any specialist lender.
